What we had
Throughout my time collaborating with SLB, I developed robust connections with various business verticals, such as the core Design Language System and product management teams. I aided the client in preparing and leading design efforts for various streams and products. Additionally, I conducted pre-sale activities and workshops to provide design assistance to our SLB Account, which resulted in full-scale design and development projects.
In order for designers to make effective recommendations and create impressive designs, it's important to begin by gaining an understanding of what's happening and why.
We gained our initial understanding by conducting a rig visit in the middle of the Texas desert and conducting extensive interviews with users, business stakeholders, and product analysts.
Following this, our team conducted a heuristic analysis to identify priorities.
Continuous Research and COVID 19
The DrillOps platform encompasses multiple applications that serve distinct purposes. Some of these applications require collaboration from numerous individuals to ensure the accuracy of the data. To facilitate this collaboration and gather the most precise data, the design team has organized a series of workshops.
As we were unable to directly observe our users, our team made full use of online tools to conduct co-creation workshops, surveys, and interviews.
Design
To create superior products, it's not sufficient to only comprehend the problem at hand; excellent implementation is also crucial.
To achieve this, our development and design team at SLB adopted a component-based approach. We aligned our design and development libraries to prevent inconsistencies and the creation of "snowflakes."
